Everytime I log into via SAFARI I either get a screen which looks very odd and is unresponsive apart from "sign out"   OR get the standard screen which is also unresponsive and will only "sign out". All clicks on anything else do not function.  I have to use FIREFOX to access my email account. Can anyone help? I have already tried going into "develop - user agent- safari 5.1mac" etc but "develop-OpenPageWith" had googlechrome and never changes.

Essentially I have no clue. Also there seem no online clues. Please help?

Hi, are you using any Safari Add-ons at all?

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Accounts, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

As far as plugins, might look in...

    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/

    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/

    Installed any new Fonts lately?

Sorry, that'd be the folder with your house icon on it.

But can you post a screen grab of what you're seeing?

Here's my Hotmail using Safari 4.0

    Here it is using SeaMonkey...

And though I never use it, my account is blocked due to supposed SPAM, can't unblock it without a cell phone, & I've never even touched a cell phone, much less own one.

Have you turned JavaScript off for Safari? I am using Leopard at the moment  but my Safari Security Preferences are as follows - check that yours are similar.

I thought Safari was bullet proof????

Possibly the worst browser you could use, but great for Apple tracking all you do.

I've reported several dozen errors to Apple with no response or clue as to how to remedy ANY of them.

Did you submit the error report to ther Round File?

    Jst submitted this to MS...

Outlook is a worse interface, possibly the worst interface I've seen, & not very compatible.

The best advice I can give you it to use gmail rather than hotmail and use Apple Mail rather than a browser for email.

If after that change you still have difficulties you should consider backing up all data to an external disk and repairing your disk and permissions.

If things still don't work properly erase your disk (AFTER BACKING UP EVERYTHING to an external disk) and reinstall your OS.
