i have had the new iphone 4s last year without any breakages 2 months before my contract has ended, my niece drops the phone and breaks both front and back screens so i take it to the phone shop who quoted back to me this phone is not fixable because the screws in the phone have been rounded of while in the factory so i take it to the apple store who say they cannot do anything with it they do not provide a service to fix iphones 4s because it is too takes too much wasted time. apples only solution was to pay for a new phone £146.00 which i don't think as an apple customer i should have to becuase i have alreayd paid te full amount for my iphone apple now wants me to pay more for their mistakes i think that this is a joke that apple cannot solutionzie my problem i have had iphoens since the 3gs and an macbook air their customer service is made out to be brillant but in actual fact they just want you to buy the product and then they will take no fault when it goes wrong

 

so the solution here is get my iphone fixed and sent of for the screws to be taken out for more money thanks apple for helping with my problem you have now lost anouther ****** off customer

    Where is Apples 'mistake' in that?

    Go buy another phone and crack the screen and then see what your options are.

    You have obviously judged the situatio before actual reading my discussion i have tried to FIX THE PHONE but the SCREWS ARE ROUNDED OF IN THE PHONE FROM THE MANUFACTUER maybe that is apples problem not mine

    Apple does not repair iPhones, they replace them. The price they gave you is the price for an out of warranty replacement phone.

     

    The "rounded off screws" are that way by design. The "phone shop" you took it to does not have the correct toolto remove them. Either pay for the out of warranty replacement or find a competent repair shop.

    thats funny "camille" who i spoke to on the phone yesterday gave me these prices from the APPLE STORE so not making up random prices from no where Camille also told me they fix it for £146.00 or replace for £146.00

     

    the phone store who have shown me the screws and have also told me that the screws inside are all normal cross head screws and this particular one has been rounded off it is not a pentalope screw like the two at the bottom of the phone however as you say this is a feature made by design which the apple team have installed wrong.

     

    In this apple support community there is a dicussion with other fellow apple customers with the same probelm as mine but in different places of the phone but it is a PRODUCT DESGIN

    If you feel / believe that the incorrect hardware was put on your phone then you will need to speak with Apple Corp in your country. None of us users can say if they were installed incorrectly.

    Just be prepared for a LONG battle.
