I set up the Icloud but it doesn't push data to the cloud, If I add a calender event on the cloud website it shows on my device but if I add an event on my device it won't push to the cloud... what am i doing wrong. The cloud is and has been synced several times. Same with contacts.

    Check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar to be sure you have selected the calendar listed under your iCloud account as your default and not something else such as On My Ipad.  For Contacts, if you are syncing your contacts with multiple sources, be sure that iCloud is selected as your Default Account in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars in the Contacts section.
