Q: There was a problem -- LOCALIZE

Trying to order prints from Aperture (after some pretty clunky signing into my Apple account) I got an error message that said only "There was a problem -- LOCALIZE."

Anyone know what that means or how to deal with it?

    When you order prints, sign out of your Apple ID, and sign in again. Update the detalis, like if you were creating a new account. This will update you Apple ID with the missing information, and you are herafter able to order prints. Worked for me.

    I've had this problem for YEARS.  And, today, the only way I was able to overcome it, while ordering a photo book from Aperture, was to create an entirely new Apple ID!  I tried everything else multiple times.  Terrible!  Now I have three Apple IDs.  Does anyone know how to delete one?

    You cannot delete AppleIDs, you can only stop using them.

     

    Last year, after several AppleIDs had been compromised, Apple tightened the security measures. Your old AppleIDs will not work, when ordering from the Apple Store or iTunes Store, if your security questions and the password need fixing. They should conform to Apple's new security standard; the answers to the security questions at least six characters, the password should contain capital letters, lower case letters, numerals.

    This also worked for me (re-entering my current AppleID credentials as if it were a new account). It didn't (as far as I can see) destroy my existing AppleID.

    I had this problem last year.  Supposedly it was a password problem.  One of my security questions did not contain numbers - What was your first pet's name?  (go figure - no numbers are applicable).  Was able to order prints after changed the answer to include a birth year.

     

    Just tried to order a photo book - same issue localize error and not able to order books.   Apple just does not want to take our money.

     

    FYI - My apple id works with my apple tv, buying music, books, etc.   It just does not work with Appeture.  I can't beleive this problem is going on for so long.   I never had any significant issues with my apple id and computers, ipads, etc.
