First - I'm running OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leapord).  I'm also using MS Outlook 2011 for Mac.  A couple times now I have synced my iPhone 4S with my Mac using iTunes (I do not use iCloud in any shape or form) and I find I have no contacts on my iPhone.  I check back on the desktop and all contacts in my Address Book are gone.  However, Entourage still has all of the contacts.  This has happened at least twice in the last two months - and definitely not on every sync.

So, what's going on here?  WHy am I losing my Address Book contacts?

Second - the last time this happened I was able to recover by turning off sync services in Outlook, shutting down Outlook then restarting and turning sync services back on.  So far, this time, that has not worked - Outlook is not re-syncing Address book.

And, to compound the whole issue, I found I had lost ALL my calendar entries in iCal.

Any help / suggestions are greatly appreciated.
