Nov 10, 2012 9:58 AM in response to aMusedTooby Luv_Smile82,I spoke with tech support from my internet provider (Knology) and we tried somethings to see what was going on. We then determined that it has to be something in the new iOS 6 that isn't compatible with secure privite internet running on WPA-2. He said that most public wifi operate on WPS. So made this is something Apple should look into.

Nov 22, 2012 10:08 AM in response to Scott 29by Luv_Smile82,Good luck with getting this fixed. Apple want even acknowledge that their is a problem. If you want to update your phone you will have to go to a public place that has wifi and back it up. It has something to do with the new iOS 6 update. They said it should be fixed with the 6.1 update but I'm still having the same problem.

Nov 23, 2012 6:41 AM in response to Kamortonby gstockle,I had this problem. The thing that solved it for me was changing my icloud email address from ...@icloud.com to ...@me.com under icloud account settings/advanced. Worked for me.

Nov 23, 2012 8:53 AM in response to gstockleby Luv_Smile82,I've tried every suggestion that has been placed on these message boards, different tech sites, and I've changed the settings on my router. None have worked it would be nice if Apple would investigate and fix the problem. They want even acknowledge the problem exists. I really want to go back to the iOS 5 but I don't know how to do that.

Feb 14, 2016 3:39 PM in response to royfromsugar landby Gary Davis4,My iPad had not backed up automatically to iCloud for over 1 month. Manual backup did not work either...;just stalled out. I too have Comcast and shutdown the modem and the TimeCapsule that I have connected to it. This fixed the problem; after putting the iPad on the charger, turning it on, and locking it, the iPad automatically backed itself up over WiFi to iCloud.
Prior to this I had run numerous hard resets, etc. to no avail.
