My 15 year old daughter has a MB Air 11.6" for less than a year and a crack dot appeared on the screen, with no apparent reason. It spread a black area in a few days. In Brazil they charge you US$ 850 for a new screen.

 

I was told by the reseller that the best would be to contact Apple, but as soon as I put the serial number in the support page it pointed that my warranty had expired (date of purchase: 12/12/2011). We know she did not drop or hit the computer with anything, so I don't think it fair to pay such a high cost for a problem that seems to have come with the product. What should I do next?
