Oh sorry to hear about it! But if I understand you correct Apple now is aware of the HDMI problem? Hope it works out really fast for you and for us all
They may be aware of the HDMI problem but they don't seem to have acknowledged it or seem to be anywhere near fixing it.
Meanwhile I am sitting around waiting for someone to contact me to say they have found my MM and have arranged for a new one to be shipped to me.
Perhaps I will have to ring the local police and inform them, as it clearly shows on the tracking info Apple received it, so perhaps the police would like to investigate the theft of my MM I sent Apple?

It gets worse, they have contacted me unfortunately the MM they have ordered as a replacement has a standard HD, where the one I ordered and received had a Fusion drive!
I have contacted them and included a copy of the original confirmation e-mail which clearly shows it was the upgraded processor and Fusion drive.
Let hope I can get through to them!
I encourage you all to send feedback directly to Apple. Here is the feedback I gave Apple at:
"I'm sure you're well aware of the threads on your community forums regarding the flickering video on the HDMI port of the latest 2012 mini so I won't bore you with the details.
"What I'm asking you to do is to please make a public statement acknowledging the problem and that you are actively working on it.
"It's sad to see the number of people on your forums and other third-party Mac support forums spending countless hours in a futile attempt to isolate and correct this problem themselves. You could save people a lot of time by simply admitting there's a problem and that no amount of troubleshooting will help so just be patient and wait for a fix.
"It's the right thing to do. I believe you know that."
I got a 2012 quad i7 2.3 Mini about 2 weeks ago. I'm using a Samsung 245b 1920x1200 24" display connected via DVI and the supplied HDMI>DVI adaptor. The display has worked for years with a Powermac G5 then with a core2duo iMac.
The Mini has had heavy use and the extent of the problem for me has been 1 or 2 very brief (1 second or less) totally black screens per day. After the flash of black the display recovers instantly. I borrowed a mini-dp>DVI adaptor and didn't see the issue but I have had to give it back.
Yesterday I called Apple to report it but said I was happy to keep using it and wait for a solution as it didn't seem to be much of a problem.
Today the display just went black for 2-3 seconds and this was followed by 1-2 seconds of noise (snow) and then it recovered. This is the first time I have seen this and I have been using this mac a lot.
BTW my Mini is running OS X 10.8.2, I ran software update as soon as I got it and installed the update that way. This is a worry in itself, I am running an update that Apple have apparently pulled without revealing why.
I have the same issue - but more frequently
I did my install and time machine restore on an ACER monitor - no issue. When complete I connected to my Panasonic TV via HDMI - screen blinks black once every 10 seconds
did all NVRAM SMC Resets
Reapplied 10.8.2 Supplemental 2 - same issue
All others are only getting this a few times a day or once per hour or so, with me - every 10 secs - same issue?
Tried all resolutions, refersh rates - same issue
Tried via Lightning port using MiniDisplayport/HDMI converter - same issue!!
Help! Genius Bar appt on Sunday!
Well I was so upset I sent an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
This is obviously a widely known issue - and I am one of the biggest apple fan boy's on the planet
I just bought my 15th Mac - and getting it out of the box today I have the screen flicker issue
I can forgive apple easily for having bugs and issues - everyone does - but this has been known for weeks - all over the forums and no official statement from Apple - that is nothing short of disgusting.
If this is not solved soon, my 15th Mac will be returned with a request for my money back and I wont be buying another
Come on Apple - step up
