Q: How can I dictate on my iMac instead of typing?

I would like to dictate letters etc. without typing, is this possible and do I need to download an app.

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011)

If you use OS X Mountain Lion, Dictation is preinstalled > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5449 If you use Lion, you can upgrade to Mountain Lion or install Dragon Dictate > http://www.nuance.com/for-individuals/by-product/dragon-for-mac/index.htm

Several applications are available.

Dragon Dictate is one of the best.
