First thing you want to do if you allready haven't, is verify your email incoming and outgoing mail server settings with your email provider - ht4810 - has the link to the list of server settings an email provider should provide you with. I know that some email servers won't allow you to send email even with the correct settings because of certain wifi routers FYI.

You need to review your SMTP setting ,check with orange for the correct

Thank you for your help. I checked the settings with Orange earlier and they assured me they're correct. Your advice about Wi-Fi routers FYI is new to me, but my PC (which I can send from) is wired, whereas my iPad is wireless, so maybe that is my problem. :D

I am in the US and I'm having the same problem. I have no idea what smpt server to use to verify my email/acct. I can receive but not send messages on my new iPad 3. Any tips?

I used smtp.orange.net with SSL off. I've not entered my username or password and the port number is 587. I found all the Orange Servers information at this address. http://help.orange.co.uk/orangeuk/support/personal/506007 So far it has worked for me. Good Luck.

How about you take it to a EE Store (There orange now) and ask them?
