    Greg,

Yes, it will autosave Numbers Versions periodically. You must do an initial Save to give it a FileName to make sure everything gets off to a good start. Best to Save a new document before you even add any data or programming.

When you are Using Numbers and you do the initial Save will you be told/promped when it auto-saves for you the next time?

    Greg,

Here's the short story, from the Help system:

Many apps, including TextEdit, Pages, Numbers, and others, automatically save versions of documents as you work on them. At any time, you can browse through document versions and go back to an older version. You can also explicitly save a version.

A version is saved automatically every hour, or more frequently when you’re making many changes. A version is also saved when you open, save, duplicate, lock, rename, or revert a document.

There is also a KB Article on the Apple Support Site that goes into detail.

Hi Jerrol, is there a way to do this from Finder, or do you have to open the document to retrieve an old version ? (my problem is that I can't anymore open a Numbers file that I've been using since september)

    Best regards
