OK, tried to do this & when I get to the point where I'm supposed to click STORE > AUTHORIZE COMPUTER, I get an error:
iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store, an unknown error occurred (11333)
I've tried several times using both mine & my daughters account, even restarted my computer, with same results. Can anyone help me resolve this?
Thanks so much!

What operating system is on your computer (windows or OS X), and what version? Also, what version of iTunes are you using (check iTunes>Aboiut iTunes on a Mac; Help>About on a PC).

Ok I've been trying all day to do this & keeps telling me:
The iTunes update server could not be contacted. Please check your internet connection or try again later.

If you don't know what it means then you haven't done it. If the router has a firewall in place it may be blocking access to the necessary servers and/or ports required to update. If you can, go into your router's settings and disable (at least temporarily) the firewall and try again.

Ok, so here's my issue .....
I'm trying to update my iTunes, it says I need MAC OS X 10.6.8, I'm only running 10.5.8, when I try to check for updates, it says all software is up to date. Doesn't make any sense to me, can you help?

Unless you are using the new iPhone 5, you can go here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/#itunes, download the installer (dmg file) for iTunes 10.6.3 for Mac and save it to your desktop. Then close iTunes and double-click on the file and install it. Then try syncing again.
If you do have an iPhone 5 let me know and I'll give you the steps to update your OS X so you can sync it.

Back at this again ...
I have tried the steps outlined in the document above, when I get to the step that says "restore from backup", it starts to backup then an Error pops up in iTunes saying "itunes could not restore the iPhone because an error occurred". The phone appears to be restoring, as it says "Restore in progress", once I get the error, the phone restarts. The data on the phone is all still in tact, but in iTunes, only 2 songs are listed under Music. I have tried this numberous times, even restarting the computer & trying again.
I am sorry to be such a pain, but thank you for your help!

Try deleting the backup and go through the steps again. To delete the backup, open iTunes, go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices, then click on the name of the backup in the Backups list, then click Delete Backup. Then start again at step 7 (creating the backup) and see if it restores this time at step 8.

OK this is about to drive me crazy!
I deleted the back up from last night, still got the error after doing another backup & trying to restore from backup. I decided to kind of start over because when I douwnloaded the PhoneView, I don't think it ever did anything. I deleted the old version of Phoneview off my MacBook & downloaded the Demo again, but when I open it, a message pops up saying PhoneView Demo Is Over. I have tried multiple times to delete everything on my computer called PhoneView, even emptying trash, restarting & then downloading the demo again, still says the same thing!
I can't beleive this is THAT hard! I do thank you for being patient & apologize to you, I am typically not this cimputer illiterate!
Any help you can give is GREATLY appreciated!
