Can the external battery charger for a 1st generation shuffle be used for a 4th generation shuffle?is

    No.  The connectors are different and the 4G Shuffle will not charge or be able to sync with iTunes.

    I probably did not express my self properly. 

     

    My old shuffle that looks like a package of gum has a USB connector on the bottom and my 5V cube that I plug into the 110V socket has a USB port.  The shuffle that I just purchased is 2 GB and came with a short cable with a mini-plug on one end and a USB connector on the other end.  To charge it I just plug it into a USB port on my computer.  I was asking if I could use this short cable and plug the USB connector into the USB port on the 5V cube I have?

     

    I hope this is a better explanation.  Thank you for your help.
