Using iCal on Lion, you can share a calendar with "Everyone". Then you can get the web address of that calendar to share with anyone. (Click the "Calendar" button, then right click on the shared calendar and pick "Get Info". From there you can get the link.)
Sharing privately, between two users for example, requires both users to have iCloud accounts. This is also true of Google calendars, by the way. To share a Google calendar between two users, both need to have Google accounts. From there, both services allow you to control read-only and read/write access.

Theoretically that's how it should work. However when I paste the URL into Google using "Add by URL" I get the following error:
"Could not fetch the url because robots.txt prevents us from crawling the url."
What robots.txt ? I didn't create a robots.txt. And with the calendar open to Everyone, there should be nothing blocking anything, right?
This used to work with MobileMe. Since the change to iCloud it doesn't. My work uses Gmail for mail and calendar, and I'd like to be able to see my personal non-work calendar while looking at the work items

If there is a robots.txt file it would be on the iCloud server and created by Apple, not where you could create it, and if it's blocking Google from searching for events in your calendar (which you wouldn't want) then it may also block Google from subscribing, though this seems a bit irrational.
You could try both Google and iCloud help, but you probably won't get any meaningful response from either.

I still cannot figure out how to find the url for my iCal. Can I please get some direction? I don't see the "email" option in ical however when I sent an ivite to my other mail account I thought that might contain the url but did not. Thanks in advance for some assistance!
