I have a macbook pro OS X 10.6.8 and am trying to install Bootcamp. I have a Windows 8 waiting to be installed. I can only get as far as to the partitioning part of the BootCamp Assistant, though. It keeps saying that I need to reformat my disk as an Extended (Journaled), and to erase the disk and restore the files after. Is this really necessary? I am worried about erasing all of my files- I do have them backed-up, but I would still prefer to avoid it at all costs.
