So the same music that will not sync to your new iPod Classic syncs to your wife's iPod just fine using the same iTunes library?
What is the full wording of the error message(s) that appear when you trying the iPod?

Actually no error message appears when you sync it just does not sync the music. When you look at itunes all the tracks appear but they have an exclamation net to then and when you try and play them you get "the song "....---..." could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?.". If you click yes it just goes to a folder but I don't know where it should be besides itunes and what to do to find it"

See here for more help.
Where is iTunes looking for most of these tracks?

Yes. See this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.
