if you enter a test calendar event on the iphone, does it show up on the macbook calendar?

on the iphone itself go to settings>icloud>turn calendars off (yes keep a local copy) then turn it back on after a minute. this can refresh he connection with icloud, you may need to do this on the mac as well. unfortunantly i do not use a mac so i dont know where those settings are going to be, only that on the macbook you can go to system preferences and click on icloud, see if you see an option to turn off calendars and then back on.
