Hi there,

I just did a fresh install of safari on a 24" imac I picked up second hand.  I use dmigration assistant to move my apps and files to the machine and everything seems to be working fine *except* safari is borked.  It fails when tryign to load and no amount of reloading, restartign the computer, etc. fixes it.

I thought I would just delete it, download a new copy and reinstall.  However, in Apples increasingly locked down, dumbed down, IOS-like releases it won't allow me to delete it as it says "“Safari” can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X."  I have run software update and it doen't offer an update.  Safari is not in the Mac app store either.

I am on Lion 10.7.4 and the version of safari on my system is 5.1.6 according to Finder.

How do I fix this???

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4), imac 24" 3.06mhz Core2D, 4gb Ram
