What iPhone 4S did you buy? If Virgin Mobile is a CDMA carrier, I do not believe it is a supported carrier. If you purchased a CDMA phone in the US, the only part that can be unlocked by the carrier is the GSM side. CDMA phones cannot be unlocked.

Also, you are not addressing Apple here, this is a user to user technical support forum. The warranty on that phone is also only valid in the US, so if you had trouble with the phone you would have to return to the US with it for warranty service.

    You should sell the phone.

The original carrier is the only one that can auhorize an unlock. You purchased the iPhone from where to work on Virgin Mobile? If they sold the phone, they are the only one that can authorize the unlock. Or, is Virgin Mobile the carrier you want to use now? Who was the phone originally locked to?

I don't know about that. According to this support document, Virgin Mobile does not offer unlocking services, so you are out of luck. They are the only one that could authorize the unlock, and since they don't offer unlocking services, you cannot get it officially unlocked. Sorry.
