Just wanted to chime in and say that I have the same issue. When trying to use wifi on my IPhone 5 in my apartment it works intermittently at best. I have to switch to LTE to get reliable service. It's not a signal issue, the router can be in the same room and the phone will be displaying full signal. I have trouble shot with multiple laptops which both work fine while the IPhone does not. In addition my primary TV device is a Roku and thus I would be picking up an internet or router issue whenever I try to watch streaming programming and I am not.It is only the IPhone 5 that has trouble.

One difference is that the new Netgear router broadcasts seperate SSIDs for 2Ghz and 5Ghz connections where the old router had one SSID for both...

I disconnected a 5ghz cordless phone and all of my wifi issues have been fixed. I was having all the same issues with connectivity before trying that.

I Think the only way Apple will do anything about this issue is if Cosumer Reports or some major news agency picks up this story. This discussion  has 161 pages of comments and over 325,000 views and still no word from Apple. If Steve Jobs would still be around there would be heads rolling!

At this point the only thing we can do is call Cosumer Reports and let our voices be heard!

I Have spent hours on the phone with Apple wasting my my time, telling me my router is the issue. Trust me its a hardware issue and they won't admit it.

    Enough said.

on the other hand, if Stevie was still around, the response would be "you're connecting it wrong!"

Here's another solution, providing if your NEW device isnt deemed faulty:

We're all in the same boat

Heads are rolling but over maps first, at this rate by the time they get around to firing people for the wifi all that will be left in the iOS6 office will be a summer intern and the guy who empties the desk bins.

The iPhone 5 with iOS6 is so bad that broken wifi gets lost in the noise of larger more headline worthy issues. Under Jobs a scratching issue, or a maps issue or a wifi issue or a battery life issue would have slipped through but not all of them in one release. Jobs would have spun it in a "you're holding it wrong" way but he'd still get it fixed.

Man I'm so disappointed with my current iPhone 5.. This is my 3rd iPhone 5, and it's STILL not working with the wifi... I made a call to Apple to ask for a brand new phone instead of replacements from local service centre which are most likely reconditioned ones, the guy asked me to get ANOTHER replacement just to try my luck before they consider shipping me a brand new iPhone 5. Ok I will wait......

Just bought my iPhone 5 earlier today and I do have the same problem as well..

Can connect just fine to my home wifi, could browse the Internet for few seconds until no more data would load anymore.

iPhone 3GS, iTouch and laptop all working perfectly through the wifi.

Really disappointed with my expensive purchase so far. ;(

Reset wifi setting is a temporary fix only

    Yes!

If your wifi problems go away if you stand next to your rounter then it seems to be a hardware problem with your iphone 5, I guess a defective antena?

Anyway, my replacement Iphone 5 has been working well for over 2 days, no wifi problems anymore, no matter what the router setting are.

Me too - what is Apple doing, this hopeless. My 3G is outperforming the iPhone 5 at home. Have checked everything, changed DNS settings, reset router with BT etc etc ... No joy. Come on Apple we need a common fix.

I have a case open with Apple. Suggest all raise cases.
