Open Mail - Preferences - Accounts and re-input all the settings. You may have one that is corrupt, even though it may look OK re-inputting resets them.

Funny is it not how all settings can look 100% right yet when you delete the account and re-add it suddenly starts working. I guess there might be hidden values in the preference file causing the problem.
