After installation, fonts may no be available to running Applications until after a Restart.
Long ago, Word used to use a subset of all the Installed fonts. If you wanted to add another font that was alrready installed on your System, you had to add it to the list inside Word. I am not a User of the current version, so I do not know if that is still true.Mac Pro (Early 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8), & Server, PPC, & AppleTalk Printers

Okay, I figured out a few things:
- In FontBook I had to go to Preferences and click on "Automatic Font Activation"
- Mine didn't require a full restart but even though I had closed my Word docs, I hadn't closed all of the way out of Word. This was required.
- 6 out of 8 fonts worked. This tells me that the problem is with those 2 fonts and the source rather than the Mac.
