Q: same app appears two times

Hi, when I do "open with" from finder I can see appearing the same application twice, my Mac has become slower since I upgraded to Mountain Lion and I am curious if this is the case. If I am installing the same application over and over each time to the same computer then my machine will be indeed slower.

Any idea why this happening ?

A:

Corrupted Launch Services database. Launch the Terminal app in /Utilities, copy & paste in this one line command into the window that pops up (ensure that there are no extraneous spaces breaking common words like LaunchServices), and hit the return key. Quit the Terminal app and restart. All duplicates should be gone.

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user

Sure it did. There are no duplicates. Apps with different version numbers are considered unique items.
