Here is an excerpt from the license agreement:

    2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions. This License allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on a single computer at a time. This License does not allow the Apple Software to exist on more than one computer at a time, and you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple computers at the same time.

You can download the entire SLA here:

    http://www.apple.com/legal/sla/

So, it appears that you will need to purchase another copy of it if you want to install it on another computer.

You are also talking about two different applications. Quick time for Mac will NOT run on Windows, and vice versa.

I know they are different but I already have Quicktime installed on the laptop ... wondering if they would let me exchange the key for a key to the one on the PC laptop ... it would be of more USE there since i can take it to free WiFi places and the desktop Mac is a bit of a handful to do that ... shouldah thought about that when I bought the key ...

I'm guessing that just for the heck of it you tried the key on the Dell and it didn't work, right?

In that case as we are all just users like yourself no one here can answer the question. You should get in touch with Apple and see if there is anything they can do for you.

    regards

I doubt it will work but its worth a shot.

Try 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) as a start. Who knows you might get someone having a good day and get lucky.
