Rosetta is (was) an Apple technology which allowed older programs (those designed for Power PC Macs) to run on Intel Mac hardware. I say "was", because newer versions of OS X do not work with Rosetta, so you would have to update your Office software to a new version if you decide to upgrade OS X.
Rosetta has not changed the nature of your files - you can still open them in Word or Excel. Right-click one of your Word documents, click Get Info, and in the new window, under "Open With", choose Word and click Change All. Do the same for a spreadsheet file (but choose Excel).

Tried opening after right click and word seems to launch but nothing much else happens. If I know go in to try and open a file all the items in the tabs are ´grey´. This is sooo werid as everything was ok until now!
