I have a MacPro 1,1. Since it does not support Mountain Lion. I'm considering replacing it as my desktop and setting it up as a server running Lion Server (which I don't have).

What are people's experience with Lion Server?

Is Lion Server still available? I can't find it in the Mac App Store.

Thanks,

Mark

As I understand it, Lion Server was removed from the App Store when Mountain Lion was released. You can still download it if you already own it, but you can no longer purchase it.

Thanks for the comment. Not making Lion Server available to new customers seems to serve no purpose. I'm sure Apple would prefer that everyone would use Mountain Lion Server over Lion Server and so would I, but my MacPro won't run Mountain Lion. I'm still using the MacPro (running Lion) and Lion is still being updated.  I want to run Mountain Lion on my desktop, but that means a different computer and what can I do with my MacPro which still runs fine?
