So it says but I have tried three times to get it to install and every time the installation fails and then won't close when I click Cancel. Perhaps a month's delay wasn't enough to all Apple to 'get it right' after all.

Thanks homeport1, that helped me to get it installed, although after I rebooted as prompted, Windows said the installation was corrupt and I had to Repair it. iTunes 11 is now installed and running but I can't save my Preferences. I have been through the menus and set them but when I click on OK, the dialogue box doesn't close. Nothing is highlighted to indicate I have made an error in any of the selections. It also flags some videos as new but not others, even though the ones flagged as new are some of the oldest in the library. It seems like there might be some bugs in this version where Windows 8 is concerned.

Update to my last post: I got the Preferences issue sorted out by shutting down iTunes and restarting it but now some new issues have shown up. When I sort music by Album it appears to be sorted by artist. Also, artwork is missing form some music, movies and TV shows. Is anyone else having issues like this?

I also tried to download it from Help to Seach for updates. The update was found but once i clicked download, it did not bring me to the site to download the update like it should.

Like everyone else, I wanted to upgrade from windows pro 7 to windows 8.  All fine except when I wanted to open up itunes with the music app a note came up that the app could not be opened.  Found out later that the size of the apps, no matter which one I tried to open, couldn´t work while I have a small notebook that can´t support the high resolution as a larger laptop/computer has.  Ended up deleting the windows 8 and am back to 7 and feeling fine.

You should use Add features to Windows 8 instead of returning to Windows 7.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/feature-packs

Windows 8 is missing some codecs for audio and video playback. These can be fixed by using the Add features to Windows 8 application. iTunes works best on Windows 8 Pro with Media Center.
