After using pages successfully to produce a large document I find I cannot "Save" or "Save As" because they no longer appear under the File tab. I can choose "duplicate" or "Save a Version". Any idea what's going on here? I'm using Pages 09 version 4.2. Thanks, Mike.

Select File while holding Option key and you'll be able to see the Save As button

If you are using Mountain Lion, mende1's suggestion works. But I think you're using Lion because of the "save a version" command. If you're using Lion you need to go to File > Duplicate & then File > Save.

If you have previously saved the document, & I hope you have since it's "a large document," autosave in Lion or Mountain Lion will save it for you periodically.
