Hi all,

I just update to iTunes 11, but since than I'm only able to sync my iPad and iPhone with a cable, the wifi sync option is not working. Both of my iDevices won't find my MacBook

Info:

iPad Wifi 3rd Gen

iPhone 5

MacBook Pro 15" (mid 2011)

Hope that anyone has a solution or Apple comes up with a solution

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), iTunes 11

iTunes 11 took a very long time to find my devices via wifi. When it finally found them I tried syncing the iphone5, but the first two attempts ended with a "Cancelling Sync" message. It did complete the sync on the third attempt. When I tried to sync the iPad3 via wifi, the sync operation wouldn't even start.

No problems at all syncing with the cable, though.

Apple QA has definitely gone downhill.

My iPad 2 was syncing via wireless very seamlessly but as soon as I updated to iTunes 11 I know longer can. I need to plug it in instead. I checked to make sure that the "sync via wireless" is checked in the settings... We would appreciate a fix for this Apple. Thanks!

Same problem here. I havea 64-bit Windows 7 machine, an iPhone 4S, and I presume that iTumes 11 is 64 bit as well (upgraded vis Apple Software Update). Cable sync works fine.

I had this problem with my iPad 2 when I first updated to iTunes 11 as well. What I did to fix it was did a restart of the iPad and reconnect it to the wireless network. As soon as it was connected I saw it appear iTunes as a device ready to sync.

    Hope this helps

Tried that with the iPhone. Restarting does not help.

It took a long time indeed until my iphone 4S and ipad 3rd gen appeared on the top right in itunes 11.

I can backup the devices but syncing doesn't work. The problem seems to be that with the exact same content sync settings as before (which music, apps etc.), itunes 11 displays the storage usage on the idevices incorrectly - storage usage allegedly exceeded by several GB! It seems the sychronization is pretty messed up.

This worked for me. I even didn't have to restart my iPad, I just turned Wi-Fi off and on. So it's basically the same idea: reconnect your iOS device to your Wi-Fi network.

I've just updated to iTunes 11 and getting things to sync is a mess.  My iPhone 4S won't sync via WiFi even though iTunes detects it ok, but it sync's ok when connected through a cable.  My iPad3 won't even sync through WiFi or cable - just keep getting an error saying it lost connection at the same point in the sync cycle.  seriously considering going back to iTunes 10 if that is possible.

My itunes wasnt recognizing either my or my husbands phones via wifi either, I took the suggestion of others and reconnected to wifi, didnt work. What ended up working for me was going into network preferences on the mac, and than advanced and deleting my network from the list of preferred networks, turning on wifi on my mac, quitting itunes, turning wifi on my mac back on, reconnecting to my network and opening up itunes. Just synced a song to my iphone via wifi no problem. Odd workaround but hopefully that helps you. I am running osx 10.8.2 and my phones are on ios 6.0.1

I managed to get mine sorted by a clean shutdown and power cycle of the iMac, iPhone and iPad.  all seems to be working fine now, for how long who knows!
