Me too - I reallly have tried to deactivate Keychain - Its demand for a login password pops up almost everytime I click !

Keychain has nothing to do with the iPod, but on the iPhone, if you want to turn off Keychain, then you need to go into Settings>iCloud>Keychain>OFF.
