Your new camera is not yet on the list of supported cameras: See here:
- You could import your image files as raw+jpeg pairs for the time being, with the master file set to the jpeg. When later the raw will be supported, switch to the raw file as master.
- Or use the raw converter that comes with your camera to develope the raw and import the image files to APerture as tiff files.
- Or check, if Adobe's DNG converter already supports your camera. Then you could import dng-files instead to work with the raw.

I think the question need to be ask is how much longer we have to wait for the update to include a99 raw files. I shoot strictly in raw mode and Sony raw converters are not as good as aperture. I've put off buying the a99 because of this fact. I finally pulled the trigger and bought it today and its on its way to me. I have a few big corporate events coming up next month and I needed the camera. Can anyone tell when the update to include the a99 raw files will be available? I would hate to go to Lightroom but if I do I'll be gone there permanently.

Yeah .. Right ....
The A99 is a great camera ... Have it for a few weeks now, but the lack of direct import to Aperture ***** ....
The Sony converter is no help either ....
I'll try out the Adobe DNF work-around now ....

Sorry, only Apple can tell you that. Even if someone knew, s/he would not be allowed to post the information here.
To get an idea, how long you may have to wait, have a look at the support page: http://support.apple.com/downloads/#Digital%20Camera%20RAW%20Compatibility%20Upd ate
and check the dates between raw support releases.
