I would just like to confirm that what I'm trying to do is actually possible.  I think I read it somewhere on this forum before, but I can no longer find it.

I have:

- Macbook Pro 2012 with Mountain Lion

- Snow Leopard CD

- Windows XP CD

I would like to install Windows XP using Bootcamp Assistant (eventually upgrading to Windows 8 when the official drivers are available).  Once installed, I would use the Snow Leopard CD to install the correct XP drivers so that everything will work properly.

First of all, I'm just checking that this will work.  The Snow Leopard drivers are the ones I need, right?  As long as I have the correct drivers, it'll be OK?

Secondly, when the official Windows 8 drivers are made available by Apple, I'll be able to burn them and install them without having to delete my old partition and re-do everything again…right?  So I'll just have to upgrade and install...no re-partition needed?

It sounds logical in my head, I'm just checking before I do anything crazy.

Thanks!

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
