iMessage and FaceTime are currently experiencing problems it's nothing that you are doing wrong. Just wait it out and check back for iCloud status.

It's been 10 days, the system reports no problems and I do have this problem with a new iPad mini - I can use my ID to log into all services BUT the iMessages or FaceTime, saying that my username or password are incorrect. They are not.

idk, but apple's got to fix this ****. i got lucky. what i suggest you do is try every day, don't lose hope, and hopefully, one day you will be able to sign in. thats what i did. hope this helps.

I am experiencing exactly the same thing I just bought my iPad mini yesterday.. All I do the whole day is to activate iMessage my iPad doesn't even have built in FaceTime!! I cannot find it.. I am planning to return it tomorrow. Please if anyone of you resolved this kindly reply... Thanks a lot!

For me it's the same, I've just bought an iPad mini two weeks ago but I cannot log in with any Apple account in FaceTime.
I enter my apple account in faceTime, then I press next the second screen and it shows "validating..." but it never gets validated.
What's happening? This is really annoying
