Bought a brand new Mac Mini (2012 i7 2.3 Quad core).

Set it up yesterday and I when I try to upgrade, I get an error that my computer is not compatible with

10.8.2.  Help?

The update was available last week and Apple removed it; I'm sure there was a reason why they did that.

In any case, there are two different builds of 10.8.2 - that is why one version is and will be available since it is for the majority of machines out there. That build is 12C60 (and is running on my 2010 iMac). Only some 2012 machines such as yours require a special build which is the one that was taken off for the moment (before it disappeared, that was build 12C3006).

So, try to be patient; hopefully they're working on it and the update will be available asap.

There was a problem with 10.8.2 for the newer Mac Mini, reported elsewhere in these forums.

The replacement update will likely be available soon.

Actually, it affects all late 2012 machines, not just Minis (they were all listed on the update page before it was removed).

Apple has just reissued the OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 supplemental update and now you should be able to update from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2.
