Q: iTunes 11: No more album art preview for selected track??? :(

For me, iTunes 11 is much worse than iTunes 10.

You can no longer view album art by selecting a track in list view.

In list view, album art is invisible — the album art square in the lower left-hand corner is gone. So unless the track is playing, you can't see album art. This is terrible news for people who need list view, like DJs. People like me who rely on album art to remember what an album is, can no longer just click around and see the covers. This was a tremendous memory aid, which is now gone.

Now to see album covers, you have to either play the track, or switch to grid or artist list — which show either no tracks, or very few tracks.

Bummer.

Totally agree, losing the Album Art preview is a huge mistake.

Just upgraded and realized there is no way to show my Album Artwork in List View any more.

This is a major bummer for me and makes using iTunes much more of a hassle.

Please Apple, bringt back the option to show Album Art in list view.

what was  more natural that look for music with cover flow, the same way you look for LP in a store or CD at home.

Steve Jobs shown that in a presentation !!!! IF I RECALL.

DOES THE NEW CEO USES APPLE PRODUCTS !!!

Steve will not be pleased with this monstrosity.

Seriously why would they remove something SO simple and useful without giving users an option to display the cover work anymore? Really Apple?!?!?!  This stuff makes absolutely zero sense and Apple stop being control freaks thinking you know what's best because YOU don't!!!! And this was the first thing I noticed immediately when getting into iTunes11!

Honestly I think this is a bug...there is no logical reason to justify taking away the cover art from the list view.  Give me one good reason how this makes anything in the world better.  There is none, so I think it's a bug that needs to be fixed.

If it isn't, it's a HUGE FAIL on apple's part.  Why don't they ever listen to what their users need?

MASSIVE error!  Really they couldn't have just made a simple option to show or hide like before?!?!  Stuff like this scares me coming from Apple!

I don't understand. I just use the Show Up next/Previous option we now have in View. Or click the artwork in the staus bar and place it at any size anywhere.

I am sure I am missing something here.

    ATTENTION!.jpg

Apple......FIX the lack of album cover flow in iTunes 11. If you MUST make our iTunes look like it's on a phone when it's on our computer.... then PLEASE give us an OPTION to choose cover flow.

    Yes- what's missing is that:

    1) You can no longer click on a track to check its art.

    2) The currently-playing art is now only a tiny thumbnail. (see #4 for more on this)

    3) Full-size album art is completely inaccessible — except for the currently-playing track.

    4) Re: your workaround — If you click the art to open a new, art window — it only works for the currently-playing track, plus- this window will go behind other windows and disappear if you click somewhere else.

    5) Most importantly (again): You can't check art by clicking on a track.

Yeah, you're missing everything everyone is talking about here.

Which is, I can't see my album art when I click on a song.  Which is stupid.

HATE THIS!! Apple you tail ends!

Ive spent ages (years) putting single covers for my songs onto iTunes and now you put it as a tiny image up the top. Why take away this feature?

Look at the views for this thread already! Clearly people want this feature back. Ive made an account purely so I can moan about this, Sort it out apple.

    Agreed.

I've gone back to 10.7. If Apple adds back the album art preview in list view, I'll happily go to iTunes 11.

Didn't Eddie Cue say that they delayed iTunes 11 because they wanted to get it right?

    HaHaHa!!! It's a sad joke...
