Absolutely shambolic. Whoever designed this mess destroyed a piece of software I loved to use. If they were at least to make it easier for us to downgrade. What a fail.

Just adding my voice to the dissent.

There are quicker and easier ways of searching through my giant music collection than flicking through CoverFlow. But quicker and easier isn't always what I want - I want something that makes me feel like I'm connecting with my collection while I browse covers. Album art is very important to me. Sadly, iTunes 11 seems to view album art as nothing more than icons to identify folders.

I'd at least like the option to turn CoverFlow on if I want. I'm afraid for the first time, I'll be downgrading after I post this.

If you use and save genius playlists like I do,..... you don't even have the option to change the view to album art ( grid view) There are no view options at all. Every genius playlist is list view only !! Very sad.

What a shocking decision. Cover Flow was by a massive distance the best thing about iTunes. All the other (and new) navigation methods are just **** by comparison. Won't be upgrading my MacBook Pro, wish I hadn't upgraded my iMac. Wouldn't have upgraded if I'd known in advance that Cover Flow had been removed.

CF was simply the fastest, easiest way to browse your music library, especially when you started typing the artist you wanted to listen to.

Wasn't this a feature that appeared in Apple ads, that everyone else wanted to imitate.

Let's hope Jonny Ive gets a grip on the people responsible for UI, by the lapels if necessary.

    What a disgrace!

An awful interface now without the best thing in iTunes; Cover Flow.

Do not update to 11 it's a disaster.

Huge backward step Apple, iTunes now looks and works as if it was built for a PC.

We thought you would stop disappointing us on this scale with your maps app.

Apple have already shut the door on 10.7 downloads.  The link supplied in an earlier post now only gets you the new version.

Does anybody have access to 10.7 please?

    =Downgrading from iTunes 11 to iTunes 10.7=

Back up your computer first, in case the wrong things happen.

Replace the iTunes 11 application with iTunes 10.7.  I can't provide details on this since I do not have a newer computer. With mine it is very simple but I believe on newer computers iTunes has been integrated into the operating system.  On mine I just go to my applications folder and drag iTunes to the trash.  See below for possible suggestions on how to remove.

    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20431349

Get iTunes 10.7.  Apple does not keep many old version up on its web site.  I always keep an iTunes installer on my archive drive so I can have access to old versions .  This one is hidden but it is on an official Apple site:

    iTunes 10.7 for OS X  http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7195.20120912.d3uzQ/iTunes10.7.dmg

You will have to rescue your old iTunes library from your Previous Libraries folder and rename it iTunes Library.itl because a newer version of iTunes irreversibly updates your library file.  Note, this will revert your library to version at the time of the update and you will have to update any changes made since.  See:

https://discussions.apple.com/message/20401436 - turingtest2 11/2012 post on rebuilding empty/corrupt library from previous iTunes library file after upgrade/crash.

https://discussions.apple.com/message/20432309 - solution to mobile devices saying they need to be restored after downgrading

NOTE: I use iTunes 7.5 with, Mac OS X (10.4.11), not the current version.

BAD move, Apple!!  CoverFlow was one of my favorite features of iTunes!  The decision to remove it ***** bigtime.  I hate the iPad iTunes interface.  Too clunky.  CF reminds me of flipping through albums/CDs and seeing the artwork--part of the whole experience of music.

I plan to leave my other computers on 10.7 as long as possible.  May downgrade to 10.7 if possible on my desktop.

Many thanks for the link DocHouse, just downgraded and all my Lovely album art is back Yeh!  just have to sort out the -42408 error message on start up now but that is better to live with than the 'new way' of doing things!

    Thanks

Wow, it's Mountain Lion all over again -_-

Please stop removing things that we love, Apple! iTunes was really great before; you could tell that it had been meticulously fussed over and refined to make it as pleasant to use as possible, but this just feels generic and sterile.

    Back to 10.7 I go!

This is a major oversight by Apple.  They seem to be losing their touch and heading the way Windows did.  I doubt they'll bring it back - they're too big now to listen to customers requests.
