Just downloaded the newest iTunes 11. What a surprise they deleted cover flow in it! I love my cover flow. Anyone knows how to get it back?

    Can't find it anywhere.

I went back to 10.7 because I use Cover Flow on my entertainment TV.

We lost Front Row awhile back but now they removed Cover Flow.

I can't do without Cover Flow.

How did you do that? I can't find my iTunes 10.7 installer and I want to go back to the old version

Found it but will not install because a later version is already installed, how do you get around this?

Delete the newer version, the app not the library

I figured out how to restore 10.7 in the least painful way possible...

If you try to install 10.7 over version 11 it won't let you do that.

I thought I could simply open up Time Machine and restore the previous version from there, but got a message saying that iTunes couldn't be modified or deleted because it is required by OS X. I was frustrated... lol

I finally figured out that I had to restart my laptop, hold the Cmd + R buttons and from there was able to do a restore from Time Machine. I have 10.7 back and everything is cool again.
I hope my findings can help you guys if you should find iTunes 11 to be not so great.

OMG the only thing really great about iTunes was Cover Flow. What's the point of having cover art if you can't even see it?...well, you can, but just barely. My son told me not to try and re-install 10.7 because I might lose a lot of information or my whole library. I'm really upset about this decision on Apples end. Is it possible that Apple will do an update later with Cover Flow reinstalled?

Tony...Can you walk me through this very slowly and carefully. I don't want to screw this up. I do have everything backed up on my Time Machine. When I go to my applications I can't do anything except "open" it?

Personally I will gladly give up Cover Flow for the increase in performance.

I had upgraded my Mac Pro on which I didn't notice that much difference. On my MBP which I just upgrade the performace is so much faster and smoother then 10.7 it is amazing.

    Hi Robbie,

Make sure that you have your external drive connected to your computer

    Restart your computer

When the screen goes black hold the CMD & R buttons

hold those buttons until a screen pops up

Choose Restore from Time Machine Back Up

Choose the date that you want to restore from (I chose the day prior)

It'll take at least an hour for the restore to finish (it originally said 2 hours 30 mins, but it finished in a little over an hour)

Once it finishes, the computer will restart

If you click on iTunes, it should open up with the previous version (you will get a pop up alerting you that there is a newer version available - do not choose to upgrade!)

The good news is that once I did this, iTunes 10.7 found about 35 songs that I didn't even know were missing from my library.

The only inconvenience I found is that my desktop image had reverted to the default (no biggie) and Mail had to import all messages again (again, no biggie).

It really was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, and I'm glad to be rid of iTunes 11 (won't upgrade to that unless I absolutely have no choice, and only if they fix the bugs and restore the same functionality that the previous version has).

I guess your right. I've got to get use to the lack of music quality and no more cd cover art work. It probably will save money in the future because artist won't have to submit any cover art at all and just let Apple slap some pic on it. Most people nowadays wouldn't know what the cover art looks like anyways. I guess it's just a case of giving up on something I thought was part of "the musical experience". Everytime I had Cover Flow on at a party or dinner everyone always really liked it.

Well...Steve Jobs isn't around anymore and he liked Cover Flow. I guess the young kids at Apple, were just...you know...biddin' their time.

I'm not sure Allan what you mean by faster and smoother on my iMac? Am I missing something? Do the songs come on faster in a playlist?....The bitrate better? Everything sounds the same on my set up except no "antiquated Cover Flow". I have not tried downloading off iTunes Store yet...so that must be what you are referring to?

Apple - please bring back Cover Flow!!  I don't want to have to revert back to a previous version.

However, this new version has a boring look and no "flow".

Ditto to that! I like how Apple is trying to stay ahead of the game but when some thing is working leave it be!  They are changing way too fast, when people because use to some thing and like it, don't change it, or even better yet have it so you can turn it on our off, now that would have been a great feature to still have coverflow and have the ability to turn it on or off! I am trying to change mine and it won't let me, I never got anything asking me if I wanted the newer version as I tought I turned off updates unless asked first.
