    derek,

what is your Mac OS X version? And what is the iPhoto Version you had? How did you buy iPhoto? Did it come preinstalled on your Mac, did you buy it from the App Store, or did you buy an iLife CD?

The method to restore will depend on how you installed it initially.

    Regards

    Léonie

how do I find out what my Mac OS X version is?

Click the "Apple" icon  in the upper left corner of your screen and select "About this mac" from the drop-down menu. In the panel you will see your Mac OS X Version.

The digit behind the 10.7. is important.

    • The recent versions 9.4.x require Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later,
    • iPhoto 9.3.x and later require Mac OS X 10.7.4 or later

So what is your exact Mac OS version?
