    Fabini,

    Nice collection.

Musics not to be to listen to either, along with viewing the album covers.

Inability to put column browser on left severely hinders browsing for people like me - audiophiles.

Also, even customizing the column browser for playlists is extremely unweildy because you have to "Hide Sidebar," change your view options for the sidebar in any given playlist, then turn the Sidebar back on...

PLEASE LET ME put the column browser on the LEFT!

It's ridiculously terrible.  Ugly, confusing to use, buttons all over the place, and no cover flow, NO COVER FLOW?? Almost as bad as Windows 8.  My old laptop chose the perfect time to crash on me.  I get the best of both worlds, Windows 8 and iTunes 11.  I must have done a lot of bad things in a past life -_-

HaHa, totally agree! Looks like Apple hired a few Microsoft designers to screw up the unique Apple-look. All the small detail like the shadows around album art are gone. It looks bland, without depth, the fonts are ugly and in too many different sizes, the buttons are misaligned, the genre icons are hideous, etc. Where has the beauty gone? It just looks tacky...

And then messing up the navigation, complicating search, killing cover flow, etc. They have lost the plot!

No jmdwifi, I'm not one of those "I love Apple no matter how bad they treat me" kind of people. I don't have time for that kind of nonsense. I'll leave that for people such as yourself.

iTunes 11 works much better for me. Get it? I've experienced numerous glitchy iTunes updates in the past (when Steve was around). This one was quick, and smooth, and entirely without incident.

I fully appreciate that there are some valid concerns. What I find ridiculous are the over the top claims of "catastrophe", because it doesn't show album covers the way someone would prefer. Gimme a friggin break.

And "Inability to put column browser on left severely hinders browsing for people like me - audiophiles." Somehow being an "audiophile" means not having column browser on the left a valid complaint. I'm sure it would sound much better over there.

Dude, you don't really seem to be using iTunes in a serious manner. Otherwise you would realize immediately how cumbersome it has become to navigate through a library with a few thousand CDs. I have no problem adjusting to new software, but if an update kills the bulk of useful features for power users, it is simply a desaster. Period!

Dude, what part of "it works better for me" isn't clear?

Fine if it works better for you. But don't label others as whiners who actually have serious issues with this update!

BTW, are you paid by Apple? ;-)

You don't seem to understand that people use the software in different ways.

I use it as a DJ (to browse, that is. Traktor is what plays the music). Clicking on a track to get a glimpse of the album art is really important sometimes to remind me of what a track is. For me, losing this ability is, actually, pretty catastrophic.

Even if you're just an active listener and not a DJ, seeing reasonable-size cover art is extremely useful.

And the idea that you have zero access to full-size art, unless the track is playing? That's crazy. Many of us pay a lot of attention to cover art.

Music is a something with a huge emotional connection for many, and our musical lives are bound up in the software. If you just fire up iTunes & let it play — well, good for you, but don't assume your experience is my experience.

Apple has, in effect, stewardship of a sizable piece of our musical lives. They are subject to market demands- I don't blame them for that — but I think with iTunes 11, they have let down a passionate segment of people who depend on them, and who have entrusted Apple with a important slice of their life.

It's not my goal here to bash Apple- I am, after all, what many would call a huge Apple fanboy. But I don't think Apple demonstrated stewardship here that is commensurate with the trust we place in them.

Maybe if some people actually took the time to explore how iTunes 11 works instead of crying "Catastrophe" because there aren't shadows on the album covers, we might get somewhere.

There are valid complaints. And there are whiners.

And ^ may have a valid concern. No problem with that - duly noted. But I believe yoiu can change the size of the cover art in "view options".

Please. Some of this stuff is a bit heated, but your response is just as offensive — and just as uncomprehending.
