I only have a problem with the over the top responses. Not with valid concerns. As I've mentioned a few times.

Take some time to explore. There are tons of additiuonal options I've found helpful, and I'm finding more all the time.

I am saddened by the way I see Apple going. I fear it's become too big and corporate, lessening in innovation, and instead, becoming distracted - preferring, for example, to tweak and fiddle with existing UI's, stripping away the capacity that allowed the user the ability to customize their experience, such as what we see now with iTunes 11. It seems that  gone are the days when Apple engineered elements of fun and excitement  into it's product offerings and UI, preferring now instead a clinical uneditable mask of its former glory.

    You are 100% wrong.

I can use one of many different programs to play music, but I choose to use iTunes because of the organization and large covers. You're obviously not interested in collecting music and just enjoy the singles. If people are not happy with a products it's their right to request change. You're confused about what people want so you should turn off your computer and put the radio back on.

But I believe yoiu can change the size of the cover art in "view options".

What are you talking about? In any case, many or most of the art preview issues relate to list view.

    Well put!

I'm so ****** off because music is important to me and when I browse through my library I don't want to look at an ugly layout that is not aesthetically pleasing and that undermines everything Apple always stood for.

And I am a big Apple fanboy, too. If it were an issue on Windows, I would just shrug and move on...

I'm referring to the option to resize the Artwork in "view options". What did you think I was referring to?

Music is important to me too. I've been a musician for 40 years, with a couple decades as a full-time professional, and worked as a Talent Buyer 7 nights a week for more than 6 years. I have a studio in my condo.

This version ***** big time.  It looks like they are going to have to fire another executive.  First and foremost this version is the slowest I've seen.  It is almost Windows Media Player slow.  When it first loads, it takes a few extra seconds to load the artwork.  Then if you edit a song title, or artist name, you are guaranteed to see the spinning beachball of death for a good 30 seconds.  Coverflow is gone which totally detracts from the experience.  The worst is that the album art that switches with the song playing is gone from the lower left corner.  The only thing you get is this tiny little view of the album artwork up in the track playing listing.  Then you have this stupid extra column of artists that is absolutely useless, because the only way to get the list view back is to arrange by artist anyway, so the extra column is just extraneous garbage.  When you first start it up it is arranged by album anyway, but who the **** arranges their music by album title?  Then you had better make sure that not only is the Artist correct, but the album Artist must be the same or you are going to experience weird sorting behavior.  Somewhere, Steve Jobs is looking down on this and wanting kick someone in the rear for ruining a great product.

Yeah, fun, excitement and attention to detail was always part of the Apple GUI. Now it seems that they want to compete with Windows 8 on being dull and using tacky colors...

There is nothing at all wrong with an updated product, when it is updated well! This version of iTunes is simply not acceptable. It has nothing to do with hating it because it is new and I am unused to it. It has everything to do with all the changes that don't make my iTunes experience better, and most that make my experience worse!

This happens because it is now sorting on Album Artist.  Also if everything within an album does not match (even if a name is capitialized in one song and not others) it will not group them together as an album.  Make sure all things match for an album except the song title.  This includes the album artist.

While I find a few things work more quickly (which was a huge concern for me with a large library), the lack of cover flow, album art in list view, and the odd way cmd + L works now (it doesn't) are a big disappointment. I'm also not able to keep the iCloud downloads column permanently out of song list view, no matter how many times I uncheck the box. The way that artwork is displayed is a mess.

Stop turning OS X into iOS. iOS is great for portable devices, but there's a reason some people prefer the ability to manipulate their stuff more than they can by pointing at it.

It wasn't clear, given that, as I said- most of the art preview issues relate to list view where there is no such option. And if you "live" mostly in playlists, as I do, the Artists & Albums tabs aren't used much anyway.

I said, "for many" — certainly not all musicians are serious iTunes users. The best musician I know barely scratches the surface of iTunes. But for many people passionate about music, iTunes has a large significance in their lives, and in day-to-day enjoyment.

I couldn't agree more.  IOS does not belong on a desktop machine.  Many of the features of Mountain Lion are totally stupid on a desktop machine.  This is the downfall of Windows 8 and if Apple continues it will further detract from the OS X.  Apple has to quit trying to turn a desktop experience into an Ipad/Iphone experience.
