I have one iTunes account on 2 iPhones. And use 2 different icould accounts. Is there a way to keep different icould accounts and have iTunes match on both. Can u have 2 icould accounts one 1 iPhone? Or do I have to buy iTunes match for both iClouds accounts?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1.1

One iCloud account per device is the way it is intended.  So yes, you will have to pay for twice for match, once for each iCloud account you wish to use with match.

Yes, as long as you want to keep separate iCloud accounts on the devices for any reason, you will have to pay for match for each account.

Your only other option would be to use the same iCloud account, which would mean sharing all email, contacts, calendars and anything else backed up to or sync'd with iCloud.  iCloud works with one account per device only.

Yes, if you look in the iCloud account settings, you could turn off everything (contacts, calendars, reminders, notes, photo stream,...) and just use the account for the iTunes match.

If you don't use it for email, just disable that too.  If you only want the iCloud account for iTunes match, then you could limit it to just that function and then share the same account.  It just depends what else you are using iCloud for or want to use it for.

I actually only use my iCloud account for the email and have everything else disabled.

I'm not trying to be intentionally contrary, but, yes you can have iCloud accounts for each device and use the same iTunes Store account on the same devices. Keep in mind that an iCloud account is not necessarily the same as an iTunes Store account.

What you just described is what I have.  My wife and I have our own icloud accounts on our own MacBookPros, and our own iPhones. We share an itunes store account, which is under a differnt account than either icloud. Is it possible for us to use match without each purchasing it separately? First of all, none of my purchases wouldn't even show up because my store account is NOT my icloud account. Second, the music is shared between us, as is our income that bought the music. Any suggestions on how to proceed and what is possible?

    Thank you.

As long as you share an iTunes Store account, yes, it is possible to do what you want to do. Make sure you are both signed into the iTunes Store on the MBPs, then purchase iTM on one of them and let it do it's thing until it is finished. Then add the other MBP and let the scan, match and upload process finish. Once that is done on both MBPs add the iOS devices one at a time.

I have a similar situation as described in the original post but, after reading the posts in this thread, I still have some questions.  I recently purchased iTunes Match and would like to share my iTunes Match with my wife.  I've already ripped a lot of CDs and my desire for us to share libraries is as much about the simplicity and ease of having one library as it is cost. To rip the CDs twice or even copy all of audio the files from my computer to hers seems cumbersome.  From the previous posts in this thread, it sounds like we could share the same iTunes Store account to accomplish this.

Questions about the impact of sharing an iTunes Store account:

How does one the change the Apple ID to be used with the the iTunes Store for a particular iPhone?

How does that impact apps already purchased with the previously used Apple ID?

Lastly, there is at least one app that we both purchased separately - a password manager app.  Would using one iTunes Store account allow us to each still store separate data in our password manager app or would the same data for the app be synchronized to both devices then?

I would appreciate any help that can be offered!

The biggest thing to keep in mind is once the switch is made to a primary iTunes Store account to share and iTunes Match account there is no switching back and forth at will. The service can be shared but it primarly designed and intended to be used as a single-user service. So all new purchases must be made from the primary account. If the other person has music purchased from the iTunes Store in their library, that music will not be available to iTunes Match.

Go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores and change the login here.

Already purchased apps will have to be updated and synced via USB from her computer. There will be no more OTA updating of those apps once the store account is changed.

The data in the password manager will still remain seperate. No changes will be made.
