I have a Windows 7 PC and the latest AppleTV.

On iTunes 10.7, I could start home sharing, watch one video, or listen to one song, and then after it had completed, I was unable to play any other media.

The ATV still showed the content, but nothing would actually play when I selected it.

I have since upgraded to iTunes 11, and the issue has not remediated in any discernable way. I was hopeful that iTunes 11 would have seen many of the Home Sharing issues remediated, but to to no avail.

Does anyone have any tips that have given them an improvement with Home Sharing?

I have already unchecked "Share my library on my local network" in iTunes, as had been suggested in another thread.

So I am assuming you rebooted everything (pc, router, ATV) and you still can't play anything ever since this issue occured?

I had the same problem, iTunes would only play one thing on my Apple tvs and then stop.  Fixed that this morning by setting my ports to the correct setting, apple tvs work as advertised now, my problem is all our iPads and iPhones won't connect to the iTunes library, the little circle thing goes halfway and then stops.  I must admit this is an improvementoveritunes 10.7 as the I things now see home share, it just won't load".

    I followed the guide here:

  Hope this helps

I finally got the atvs working reliably but iPads and iphones won't finish connecting. The little circle stops halfway, still it is an mprovement, they couldn't see Share at all before today. Will keep working on it.
