Q: My mouse pointer changed; it now has a square shape that shows up behind the arrow on the screen. The square is made up of groups of line clusters, 4 columns across and 8 rows down. Each line cluster is made up of 5 short vertical lines. Any ideas-????

My mouse pointer changed; it now has a square shape that shows up behind the arrow on the screen. The square is made up of groups of line clusters, 4 columns across and 8 rows down. Each line cluster is made up of 5 short vertical lines. Any ideas what this is or what is causing this???? I appreciate any helpful suggestions that will help me troubleshoot and correct this.

    Try trashing your Desktop preference file.  You can find the file here:

     

    Macintosh HD> Users> Your Username> Library> Preferences> com.apple.desktop.plist

     

    Drag the file com.apple.desktop.plist to the Trash.  Empty the trash and restart your iMac.
