I used iWeb and YummyFTP to update webpages, and these new pages are displayed on iPad,etc. but the old pages persist on my Macbook Safari 6.0.2. I have attempted resetting Safari without effect. Baffled!!

Any advice?

    Tim --

Get rid of your Cookies for that URL. Then immediately quit and restart Safari.

    Any better?

Thanks Bee   There was a cookie for the domain which I cleared. Unfortunately, without improvement.

This seems to be something to do with OSX 10.8.2 or with Safari 6.0.2.  Previously with earlier versions I sometines had to reload page to solve a page update resistance. Now nothing works! (I suspect there is some glitch now with Safari as resetting has been made more complex in the current version of macbook Safari.)

Here is more detail about the pages Safari is looking at:

    The 1st page reads:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head><title></title><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url= RecentDrawings/durbnet.html" /></head><body></body></html> (Unadulterated iWeb).  This page has remained the same {possibly a problem?}

RecentDrawings/durbnet.html (also unadulterated iWeb) has been updated, and is read correctly on iPad Safari, but the old version persists on Macbook Safari.

Directly reading RecentDrawings/durbnet.html, rather than the 1st page, does read the new version on my Macbook.

I guess I should change the folder name, republish and see if that works.

    I also tried:

"Only way is to delete the cache.db file in Libray/cache/com.apple.safari, exit Safari, empty trash, then relaunch"

This did not fix the problem either.

    Fingers crossed for you.

Silly question, maybe, but on your MB, when you go to the site you see the old one.  What happens if you do a refresh on that page?  Command with the letter " r "

Thanks Bee No luck. Command r refreshes the old page!

I have just installed Chrome on MB. Amazingly it also retrieves the old page.

Logic says: As new page is retrieved on iPad Safari

I suspect I have an OS cache issue (but is there an OS cache?), or my MB is sick in a mysterious way.

Is there a way of restarting the MB which would clear out debris, and give a clean start?

Have you ever use YASU?  I really like it, had it for 3-4 years at least.

Ordinarily, I don't recommend getting rid of all caches, but maybe that's the answer here.

    http://jimmitchell.org/yasu

It's free, or more technically shareware.  I love it.
