iTunes (and Apple in general, these days) has been EXTREMELY annoying in the way they demand you use their software to get the most "benefits."
Excuse me very much... I'll store my songs where * I * want them, play music the way * I * want to. If I wanted Nanny Bloomberg to run my computer, I'd hire him.
The new iTunes offers no improvement whatsoever as far as I'm concerned, and just continues down the path of overbloated annoyware.
Anyone notice you can't just click on the top of the window anymore to make the iTunes window disappear? Maybe there's a setting buried somewhere in preferences. I don't care to waste an hour or so finding it.
The way I use iTunes is VERY simple. Click on songs. Listen. Want a different song? Click on THAT. Listen.
Now, everything I've ever listened to is "Up next" and if I click on a song, a friggin' WARNING message comes up asking me if I'm SURE I want to "clear songs". Seemingly no way to get rid of this annoying new "feature" either.
Intolerable.
The only thing they didn't do (and I shouldn't mention this because they'll take me up on it) is to start automatically playing the last song I played yesterday because they figured, naturally, I'd want to continue from where I left off.
Thanks for posting the 10-minute "fix". I hope it works, since the sooner this "upgrade" is off my computer the happier I'll be. :-<
