After one and a half days of trying every conceivable method to do so, I am turning to this forum for help.
I have a MAC OS X 10.6.8
I have a midi file in my GB11 that I wish to open in Logic Express 8.
I tried the following, none of it worked:
- I saved the midi file as a loop hoping that i could then simply open it in LE8. However, it is not listed in the LE8 loop library.
I read on a forum that 'when exporting a loop, it is saved as .cst, .aif and .mid. and once exported all you have to is look for it in the finder and import that file into LE8.
This is not correct for GB11, the loop will only be exported as aif and wav, not as mid.
- I downloaded midiO, a free software that lets you export midi from GB. It was released quite some time ago so the instructions are obsolete, at least for GB11. It says that you should double click on the to be exported file and then you should look for the 'details' section in order to then select midi out etc. There is no details section in GB11 anymore. I have correctly installed the midiO plug in and put it in the correct audio plug in components folder, yet it will not show up in my GB plug ins, not sure why.
I was really hoping that the midiO plug in would work, so if anyone out there is familiar with this software, please let me know what the problem could be.
- I tried to simply open the GB project in LE8. This did not work either- I got an error message stating that I needed to upgrade my Logic Express to open the GB project. I also tried opening it by dragging the GB file icon onto the Logic icon and also tried the 'open with' function (right click on mouse). That was also unsuccessful.
For heaven's sake, there has got to be a way to export midi from GB, this is such a nightmare :-(
Thanks in advance for any help!
