My iMac has the digital audio output plugged in for playing music through my stereo.

But for Facetime I'd prefer to use a small speaker/microphone usb device that sits on my desk. (I use this usb speaker/microphone for Skype all the time.)

I can't seem to find any Preferences in Facetime for choosing which speakers/mic to use for Facetime.

Facetime seems to just use whatever the default audio for the iMac is, rather than asking me if I have a preference.

Since I don't keep my stereo on 24/7, it is a hassle to not hear Facetime ringing when someone is calling me, and a hassle to have to say "Hold on, I have to turn on my stereo, wait a second" if I do notice a call is coming in.

Am I missing a preference setting that may be hidden somewhere?
