    HI,

You posted in Mountain Lion  and tagged the post "Messages"

However your Specs only mention an iPhone.

Your Title of your Thread mentions updating the Mac OS on a computer (OS X as opposed to iOS) and uses a Link to an Apple Document about this.

Are you trying to send and Receive Pic in the Messages app on a Computer in Mountain Lion or on your iPhone ?

If the iPhone over what sort of Network ? (Cellular or WiFi)

If WiFi do you have control over the internet ports that are open ?

Do your have  MMS allowed on your iPhone ?

If it is the Mac then which service/Screen Name/IDs are you using ?

AIM needs port 5190 on UDP to be open  (Firewall and Router)

Jabber can depend on the abilities of the Server you are using.

iMessages can depend on the ports opened in your routing devices the same as an iPhone could be effected.
