This is in regards to Final Cut X.  I think i accidentally toggled something that doesn't allow me to click wherever i want in my timeline anymore.  My play needle seems to be locked unless i hold down Option and click somewhere does it move.  Please can someone tell me the hot key to remove this so I'll be able to click and place the needle wherever i want without having to hold down option.  Thanks!

The behavior has changed in the current version. You have to hold the Option key to move the playhead. If you want a preference for this or to revert to the previous behavior add your vote by using Feedback.

    Thanks for your reply Tom,

That's strange.  I would've have sworn I just did this now because I've been editing for a couple hours and didn't notice this until I like double clicked and hot keyed something on accident.  The skimmer, sorry if I'm not calling it by it's proper term (the play needle in the timeline), will not move based on my click when I'm clicking on audio or video in the timeline but it does move when i click anywhere in the gray areas.  Just to clarify, you're saying that it will only move to my location if I hold down option on audio or video track?  Perhaps I just didn't realize this and I'm having a brain ****.

    Thanks again.

That's correct. Unless you click in the timeline ruler.

If I am not wrong the latest version 10.0.7 seems to have reverted to the prior 10.0.5 actions....

    You're not wrong.

Clicking anywhere in the TL window (except clips or in the ruler) now jumps the playhead to the cursor. In 10.0.7, nothing happens if you option click (except in the ruler).

    Stay tuned.
