Should I buy Pages again for my new iPad?

I bought Pages two years back when I had my iPad Gen 1. I bought the new iPad Gen 4. When the sync happened, I did not have Pages and KeyNote apps on my new iPad. I checked the App Store and clicked the apps to install, I'm being asked to buy them again. Why?

I infact deleted the Pages App on my iPad 1 thinking it is a single user license. Still I dont get to install it on my iPad gen 4! I've lost the app now. What should I do to get it?

The Pages you bought for your first-generation iPad will work just fine on a newer iPad. I originally bought Pages & Numbers for my original iPad & have since bought a third-generation iPad & an iPad mini & did not need to repurchase. But I always install apps by syncing from iTunes on my Mac to my iDevices. Still, you should be able to find & download previously purchased apps on your iPad by opening the App Store app & tapping on Purchased at the bottom of the screen. Then click the little cloud to download any apps.

Did you try installing Pages & Keynote via syncing in iTunes?
