The Pages you bought for your first-generation iPad will work just fine on a newer iPad. I originally bought Pages & Numbers for my original iPad & have since bought a third-generation iPad & an iPad mini & did not need to repurchase. But I always install apps by syncing from iTunes on my Mac to my iDevices. Still, you should be able to find & download previously purchased apps on your iPad by opening the App Store app & tapping on Purchased at the bottom of the screen. Then click the little cloud to download any apps.

Thank you, Peggy. But this did not work for me. My Purchased apps does not show Pages or Keynote, though I still have these installed on my 4th gen iPod touch. I had deleted the Pages app from my iPad 1. I think I made a mistake. How can a purchased app not show up in the "Purchased" list? Who should I talk to or what should i do to get this fixed? Any advice?

Peggy!! It worked!
I connected my iPad to iTunes on my PC and found a way to sync only the two apps - Pages and Keynote.
I could get them installed on my new iPad.
Many thanks for the suggestion.
